we call it ‘personal space’ or ‘intimate zone’
.. where dentists are allowed to invade..
everybody has their own ’space’..
and some finds it very uncomfortable for someone unknown to ‘enter’ the zone..
understood..!!
as of for me, i always prefer the spouse to be in the room, sit on the bench and witness everything i do.. esp when i’m [...]

guilt..
that’s what i feel since after i issued his bridge..
it’s not ‘that’ bad..
but not as what he expected it to be..
nobody to be blamed..
technician did his best..
i did too.. i guess
it’s just the bite.. the crossbite..
and because i made him agree to go for bridge..

Pleasant to think that my ‘artwork’ is ‘traveling’ around the globe..
The latest is Sweden!
This evening will be a crown to a lady who’ll travel back to Abu Dhabi..
Other places.. mostly from Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.. 2 from Japan and few from the Europe..
I think the main reason they seek dental [...]

a lady came for tooth extraction.. it was badly carious upper molar..
and it was very firm!
2nd attempt.. the crown fractured, leaving the solid 3 roots.. embedded firmly in the bone..
not much choice..
but to split the roots.. using highspeed bur..
err… that’s not my main story..
this story is actually about a lady who was holding [...]

mistake which is unforgivable..
the one that nobody should ever make..
but, i did!!
nothing or nobody should be blamed except ME!!
in the haste of seeing lots of patients that day, i didn’t notice the note form a patient saying that she’s allergy to Penicillin plus other antibiotics.. careless me wrote a prescription of Amoxicillin to her..!!

I always found new, interesting and sometimes ‘weird’ cases from foreigners..
the most common is the cemented partial denture.. (done by ‘tukang gigi’ esp from Indonesia..)
other cases..
- ‘china-bridge’ type of crown.. the name was given by my experienced locum.. that case was from Thailand.. all the anterior crowns are fused together.. so, if one [...]

this time, a little bit more trimming.. quick chat with him.. jokes.. laugh..
enough to make my day..
hati ku berbunga riang..
Walid vs Bridge..
Posted in Cases, Family on July 15, 2009 | 3 Comments »
I managed to issue a 4-unit-bridge yesterday to my dear patient who resembles a lot like my walid!!
not just his name.. but the way he (ermm.. how to say..) the way he ‘bring’ himself.. the sort of ‘pride’ he has.. and in fact, the good heart to help others.. all those.. makes me think [...]
